Martin Luther King Jr is also from Georgia, and he was born in Atlanta. He is one of the most prominent figures of the American Civil Rights Movement who fought for black people’s empowerment. He is also one of the Nobel Peace Prize winners. One of his speeches ‘I Have a Dream’ is very famous in the American history and is known all over the world. He was and is still the symbol that shines against racial discrimination. He dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of the African American people.
Sterling Holloway is one of the most famous television actors in the US. He started as a voice over performer with Walt Disney studio and was the voice of the famous character of Dumbo, the elephant. He lent his voice to several characters for Walt Disney films. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts of New York.
Bob Clayton is among the famous people from Atlanta. He was born Aug. 17th, 1922 was a TV game moderator and the host of many shows during his time.He assumed his announcing services on NBC game after 1962 where he was doing a national hosting job. Later in 1963, he took over hosting duties in January the year 1969. However, in March the year, 1969 Ed McMahon replaced him, but later came back in September the same year following the spectator affront and diminishing audience numbers.
James Francis also is known as Jim Martin is a politician from Georgia. He was a member of the Georgia General Assembly as well as the Democratic Party member. In 2008 elections, he contested the seating, Senator Saxby Chambliss. However, no one got fifty percent of the votes. Consequently, the election went into a run-off on December 2, two thousand and eight. Unfortunately, he lost it. James Francis was once a member of the U.S Army.
